Personal Introduction of Nobuo Takeuchi

竹内延夫 Nobuo Takeuchi(日本千叶大学教授)

         He obtained his Dr.Sc. degree in physics from the University of Tokyo in 1969. In 1968 he joined the Institute for Solid State Physics, the University of Tokyo, and engaged in laser spectroscopy, non-linear optics, and atomic coherence, and stayed in Columbia University, New York, and in National Research Council of Canada. In 1975, he moved to the National Institute for Environmental Studies and worked in the field of atmospheric pollution study using lidar systems. In 1991 he became Professor of Chiba University, and acted 2-year-term director of the Center twice. In 2006, he retired the professor of Chiba University, and obtained Professor of Emeritus status.

He engaged in coordinator of Station for Academic-Industry Collaborative Research Promotion, Chiba University. From 1999, he was invited as a visiting professor by Anhui Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics, CAS.

His specialty is remote sensing of atmosphere, optical instrumentation, quantum electronics, laser spectroscopy, environmental monitoring.
